squirrelforget about the squirrels, today belongs to the ducks It was a duck's delight today after the heavens opened and poured gallons of rain on to the isthmus. Suddenly, there were a few more lakes in Madison. So much water, so little time. Go ducks, you brave feathery denizens of Madison's lakes, lawns and streets.

1st squirrel blog of spring squirrel in backyard Seasonal change is so fundamental to life in the upper midwest. You would think it would feel more ordinary and predictable. Yet no one I know could deny how deeply they are effected by the transition from cold to warm. I drempt about prowling last night. A sign my mind and body are stretching towards balmy nights, unfettered by hats and gloves and the cold north wind.

Sunny Wednesday squirrel blogging Why, when there is so much going on in the world and even in my head, do I choose to post pictures of squirrels to the blog? Sometimes all that I want to do is to look at a nice picture. I could post more pictures of the house cats, but that seems even too self-indulgent for me. ... So, let it be know that the political leadership of the United States is guilty of corruption, heavy-duty delusional thinking, and while we're at it, mass murder. Yuck. ... Just how far away are We from the detention camps? Am I? Are you? How far in days? Weeks? Months? How much freedom do we even have now? Squirrel blogging with product placement I know, I've been remiss with my squirrel blogging. I'll work on it. I think I've probably been a little too cranky this week, too. I apologize for that. I've been reading a lot of military documents lately for a story. I'll have more on that later. For "fun," I've been heading over to the White House website to read the press briefings.
